Grease Trap Permitting

The Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District permits grease traps in the city of Wichita Falls. The Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District does NOT permit yellow grease containers and/or recyclable grease containers. There are currently over 530 Establishments with grease traps (some have multiple grease traps). Health Inspectors inspect grease traps annually and work with other city departments to assure proper compliance.

Fees & Forms

  • 6b-6. Grease Trap Permit Fee: $75.00
  • Late fees: $25.00 for every month expired
  • Grease Trap Application (a list of Grease Trap Waste Haulers can be found on the application)

In addition to the Grease Trap Fee, grease traps are also regulated under the Industrial Pretreatment Program which prohibits the discharge of Fats, Oils, or Grease (FOG) in excess of 500 mg/l. Any permitted establishment that has FOG in excess of this amount is subject to both surcharge fees and possible loss of permit for this excess. Surcharge rates are as follows:
