WIC Program
Apply online @ TexasWIC.org
The Women, Infants and Children Program, known as WIC, is a federally funded supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding mothers and families with children younger than 5. Nutritionists will select food packages based on your dietary needs. WIC staff members load food benefits onto a WIC card that will have three months of benefits at a time. WIC provides a shopping list that tells participants exactly what is loaded on their card. Future appointments will alternate between an online class and phone calls with a nutritionist every three months.
Participants may go to any store that accepts WIC to use their benefits. Store locations and benefit information can be found on the app, My Texas WIC. Download the app on the Google Play Store or on the Apple App Store. Eligibility requires that clients meet the Texas WIC income guidelines and must be residents of Texas. For those not eligible for WIC, there is nutrition education, recipes, child and family health classes and breastfeeding classes that can be found at Texas WIC | Online Classes.
