Public Information

The City of Wichita Falls Public Information Office is responsible for effectively communicating to the public and the media the business and activities of the City government, departments, services, and events.

The Public Information Office accomplishes this through the City website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the City’s television station-Spectrum Cable Channel 1300, daily communication with City leaders, department heads, and employees, and press releases sent to all print media, broadcast television, and radio stations.

The Public Information Office utilizes a state-of-the-art digital television studio and digital video equipment for live broadcasts of City Council and Board and Commission meetings, election coverage, and other special events.

The department also goes into the field to videotape interviews, project activities, and special events throughout the area related to city business, culture, and recreation. These programs can be seen on the City’s television station Spectrum Cable Channel 1300, the City’s Facebook page:City of Wichita Falls, and the City’s YouTube page: youtube.com/wichitafallstxpio

Constant Communication

The citizens of Wichita Falls can utilize the Public Information Office in many ways. The office provides individual correspondence for the Mayor and City Council, including proclamations, certificates of recognition, honorary citizenship, and letters of congratulations. The office provides information to the public related to City history, and current events organize press conferences and special events, produces television programming, and many other communication responsibilities. The Public Information Office also operates the only fully digital, multi-zone information board in North Texas on City Channel 1300.
