1. How do I make Tee Times at the Champions Course at Weeks Park

Tee times can be made 7 days in advance by calling 767-6107.
Please be on time. Arrive at the first tee at least 10 minutes in advance of your tee time. We ask that you call and cancel your tee time if you will not be able to play. This will free up the tee time for other golfers wishing to play in your time slot. Tee times for groups large than 16 players can be made by throughthe Pro Shop Manager or Assistant Manager.

2. How do I set up league play or a golf tournament?

Our experienced tournament staff will assist interested parties with setting up league or tournament play. The Champions Course has a tournament guide brochure to assist with planning golf activities. Please call 767-6107 and ask to speak with the Pro Shop Manager or Assistant Manager.

3. Does the Champions Course have a Senior League?

The Champions Course at Weeks Park has a league for seniors 50 years and older. Each Wednesday the Senior Men's Golf Association meets to play a Florida Scramble. This is an excellent opportunity for Senior golfers throughout North Texas to meet new golfing buddies and enjoy competition on a weekly basis. A small $5.00 registration fee for the year and a $4.00 weekly prize fee is all that is needed to get started. Call 767-6107 or come by and sign up each week.

4. I am interested in joining the Ladies Golf Association.

The Ladies Golf Association meets for play each Tuesday, weather permitting. The LGA is always looking for new members to join in weekly play and tournaments. For membership information please call 767-6107.

5. What kind of activities to you have for the junior golfer during the summer.

a. Weeks Park has been the hoist site for the Texas-Oklahoma Jr golf tournament for the past 50 years. Each year during the third week in June 600 to 800 Jr. golfers
from ages 6 to 18 compete on several local golf courses to determine winners in each age group. Registration, hotel, and tournament information on this great
Jr. tournament can be made by going to www.tojrgolf.com.

b. The Texas Junior Golf Association, or TJGA, was founded in 2001 and has grown to over 100 Texoma area Junior golfers. The TJGA features a summer tour of Texoma courses along with golf instruction, knowledge of the rules, and
experience in tournament stroke play. Players will play on a different course each week throughout the summer and will be awarded points for participation and bonus points for placing first, second, and third in their age group. Flights will be made
after the first two rounds of play. At the end of the season, the players accumulating the most points in their perspective age group/flight will be given special recognition. This a also a great way for your Jr. golfer to warm up for the Texas - Oklahoma Jr.
golf tournament held during the third week in June. Please see the TJGA website at www.tjga.com for registration and further details.

c. Throughout the school year the golf teams from Rider and Wichita Falls high schools meet and practice at Weeks Park twice a week. Each March high schools from the
Texoma area play a tournament at Weeks. Participation in this tournament is conducted
through Coach McDonald of Wichita Falls High school.

6. Does the Champions Course have a driving range?

Yes, the new driving range is the perfect venue to hone those skills and test new equipment.

7. Does the Champions Course have rental clubs?

Yes, Weeks Park has sets of golf clubs for rent. The fee is $16.25 which includes clubs, bag, 3 golf balls, and tees.

8. What are the cart rental fees?

The Champions Course has a well maintained fleet of electric Club Car golf carts. The rental fees are based on playing 9 or 18 holes. The fee for 18 holes is $11.25 per person and $7.25 for 9 holes. Cart renters must be 17 years of age. All persons 7 years and older and riding must pay a cart fee whether they are playing golf or just observing. All carts must be turned in at dusk.

9. What are the cart path rules?

Teh Cahampions Course asks that all carts remain on the cart paths when near a green. The 90 degree rule is in effect when playing conditions are dry. When conditions are wet and muddy carts will be restricted to the cart path only.

10. Is there a handicap cart policy?

The Champions Course invites all golfers with special needs to play. A blue handicap flag is available for golfers who have a medical or physical condition that requires them to park a cart closer to the greens. A blue handicap flag will allow golfers to park 15 to 20 feet from a green. We ask that all golfers help prevent excessive wear or damage to the area around the greens by not parking on the slopes or fringes of the greens. All carts will be restricted to the cart path when conditions are wet and muddy.

11. Can I bring a cooler, of beer or nonalcoholic beverages onto the course?

The Champions Course has a Beer and Wine Permit from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. This permit strictly prohibits any alcoholic beverages from being brought onto the course. Our policy is all beverages must be purchased from our Snack Bar or beverage carts. Personal coolers are not allowed on the course. We do have coolers for rent for a $5.00 deposit. Once the cooler is
returned your will receive your $5.00 deposit back.

12. Are groups of 6 players allowed?

Usually during our busy season groups of 6 players are not allowed. There are times during the winter when play is slow that management will allow groups of 6 to play. We ask groups wanting to play 6 to check with the supervisor on duty before starting play. During our busy season groups are limited to 5 players only.

13. Are metal spiked golf shoes allowed?

The Champions Course is a soft spike or soft sole shoe only. All golfers are awsked to wear soft spike golf shoes or soft sole sneakers.

14. Can I get a Rain Check if I can't finish my round due to personal reasons.

Rain Checks will be provided for weather related conditions. The exceptions may be for medical conditions or emergencies only.

15. What kind of greens does the Champions Course have?

The greens at Weeks are bent grass. During the summer months we must hand water the greens during mid day to cool them down. We ask for your patience during this procedure.

16. Is there a weekly scramble?

Yes, the Champions Course has a Thursday night 2 person Hamburger scramble that starts in April and finishes up in September. Call 767-6107 and sign up each week before 5pm on Thursday. The scramble begins at 6 pm and the fee is $20.00 per person. The fee includes a cart 9 holes, green fee, a hamburger meal, and prizes for 1st 2nd, and 3rd places. We also have a door prize drawing after awards presentation.

17. How do I get a handicap started?

The Champions Course provides a USGA handicap which is good for all tournaments for an annual fee of $10.00. During the season handicaps are computed and new cards are handed out at the 1st of each month. Contact one of Pro Shop staff to sign up.

18. What kind of merchandise does the Pro Shop have for sale?

The Champions Course Pro Shop offers latest golf equipment, apparel and accessories with great prices.
The Pro Shop features Taylor Made, Callaway Titleist, Sun Mountain, US Kids golf, Nike and more.

19. Is there a restaurant at the Champions Course?

Yes, the Champions Snack Bar offers tasty hamburger baskets, sandwiches, hotdogs, snacks, assorted alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, juice and sport drinks. And, you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy the popular lunch and dinner specials. We welcome everyone to stop by for lunch or dinner for a nice meal and tour of the course.

21. Where is the Champions Course located?

The Champions Course at Weeks Park is located at 4400 Lake Park Drive. Traveling south bound on US 44, 287/277 take the business Jacksboro Highway exit and turn right onto Jacksboro Highway. Continue on this roadway and turn right onto Midwestern Parkway.
Lake Park Drive will be on your left approximately 1 mile from this intersection.

Traveling north on US 287 from DFW take 287/79 south and exit off onto Midwestern Parkway. Turn right onto Midwestern Parkway and continue west bound past the intersection of Jacksboro Highway and Midwestern Parkway. Lake Park Drive will be on your left approximately 1 mile from this intersection.
As a note Lake Park Drive runs north and south between two major thoroughfares, Midwestern Parkway
and Southwest Parkway. Drive approximately 5/10 of mile on Lake Park Drive and the golf course will be on your left. Please see our map for detailed information on our location or call 940-767-6107 and we

22. What is the dress code for the Champions Course?

Appropriate attire is required at all times. NO Tank tops or cut off shorts. Shirts are to be worn at all times.

23. Can the golf course be used for jogging, walking, bicycling or rollar blading?

Due to the dangers of being hit by a golf ball (shots can travel at over 170mph), and distrupting play for paying golfers; jogging, walking or bicycling is not allowed at the Champions Course. The city has a wonderful 14 mile recreational activities trail that accomodates those athletic activities.

24. Does each player need to have their own set of clubs?

Each golfer must have their own set of clubs and bag. Rental clubs are available for a fee. Contact a representative in the Pro Shop for rental information.

25. What is the pace of play at the Champions Course?

Golfers from beginner to the experienced low handicapper use the course. On busy holidays or weekends the pace of play is set for 4 hours and 30 minutes or 15 minutes per hole. However, on any day ask golfers who have open holes ahead of them to please use golf etiquette and allow faster players to play through. A golf course marshal will be out on busy days to monitor the pace of play.

26. What does "Ready Golf" mean?

Ready golf means that players should keep the pace of play in mind and visualize their next shot as they approach their ball. After arriving at the ball location select the club and hit the shot if it is safe to do so and does not interfere with other players in the group. If it does not interfere with other players in the group you should also attempt to align your putt while others are aligning theirs or are putting out.
Slow pace of play affects everyone playing behind you. A conscious
effort to play in a timely manner will make golf more enjoyable for everyone.
Playing "ready golf" will greatly increase the speed of play and will not interfere with your fellow golfers.
To improve the pace of play we ask golfers to follow the guidelines outlined below:

a. Have your shot and club selection in mind while approaching your next shot
b. Minimize your practice swings
c. Be ready to hit when it is your turn
d. Proceed to your ball as soon as it is safe to do so
e. Take your practice swings in advance of your turn to hit the ball
f. Hit "out of turn" if it is safe to do so and does not interfere with your fellow golfer
g. Study the "line of your putt" while others are putting
h. Mark your score after arriving at the next tee box
i. If there is an open hole in front of you, you may be playing too slow
j. Allow faster players to play through

27. How long do I have to look for a lost ball?

We ask that golfers take no more than 5 minutes to look for a lost ball. As a courtesy please allow groups waiting to play through.

28. What is a ball mark?

A ball mark is a depression made by a golf ball striking the surface of a green. Golf etiquette requires all golfers to fix their ball mark plus one more. This will help minimize damage to the greens.
