Daycare/Childcare, Foster Homes, & Schools

The Environmental Health Division also conducts Daycare/Childcare Facility, Foster Home, and School Premises inspections. School Premises inspections for health and safety violations are done annually. Daycare/Childcare Facility (kitchens and pools are inspected regularly) and Foster Home inspections are conducted upon request. The Health District does NOT inspect Home Daycare/Childcare Facilities or Home Schools.

Daycare Facility inspections are $106 and Foster Home inspections are $53.

Grease Traps & Waste Haulers

The Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District permits grease traps in the city of Wichita Falls. The Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District does NOT permit yellow grease containers and/or recyclable grease containers. There are currently over 530 Establishments with grease traps (some have multiple grease traps). For more information on Grease Traps click here.

Liquid Waste Haulers (like the one pictured left) are required to obtain a permit through the Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District. Liquid Waste Haulers are permitted annually for $159 per truck.  Vacuum Truck/Liquid Waste Hauler Application

Ambulances & Ambulance Franchises

The Environmental Division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District permits ambulances and ambulance franchises in the city of Wichita Falls. There shall be charged the following fees issued by the City of Wichita Falls under Chapter 42, Emergency services: Franchise application fee (renewed every 5 years): $530.00; Annual franchise fee: $106.00; and Annual permit fee per ambulance: $106.00.
