Misty King serves as the Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Wichita Falls, overseeing the enforcement of municipal ordinance violations and Class C Misdemeanors. With a background rooted in criminal justice, Misty offers extensive legal counsel on matters pertaining to code enforcement, animal control, and health department offenses. She joined the City in November 2022.

Graduating Cum Laude from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2000, Misty continued her academic journey at Texas Tech University, earning her Juris Doctor in 2006. Following licensure that same year, she concentrated her legal career in criminal law. Post-law school, Misty dedicated her expertise to public service, initially representing indigent defendants at a public defender's office in the Texas Panhandle for the 69th Judicial District. Transitioning to the Randall County District Attorney's office in 2011, she served as a misdemeanor prosecutor and later represented the Department of Family and Protective Services for the county.

In 2016, Misty expanded her legal purview at the Wichita County District Attorney's office, holding multiple positions, including misdemeanor chief, felony court chief, and executive prosecutor. Misty's extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership in criminal law and public service make her a highly esteemed addition to the City Attorney's Office, where she is a valuable asset to the City of Wichita Falls.
